Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) Coach Education Coordinator, Mat Fox, is travelling to the Mid North Coast this weekend to hold two coaching workshops on Friday and Saturday for community coaches with the help of Wallamba Football Club (FC).
Wallamba FC was the Newcastle Permanent Community Club of The Year for 2016 as part of the Newcastle Permanent’s Community Football Awards Program and Wallamba’s commitment to continued club development and professionalism is reflected in the club hosting this weekend’s workshops at their home ground, Aub Ferris Sports Complex in Nabiac.
Mat holds an FFA/AFC ‘C’ Licence and is the Head Coach of NNSWF’s Newcastle Skill Acquisition Program U12 boys’ team.
On Friday night Mat will be delivering an ALDI MiniRoos session for parents and coaches of players aged between 5-9 years.
This session is focused on making football fun for young kids and giving them an enjoyable experience so they want to keep playing while giving parents the skills they need to put on fun activities for their kids.
The coaching session will be held from 5.30 pm – 7:00 pm. Register here if you would like to attend.
On Saturday, Mat extends an invitation to coaches to join him for a free Coaching Workshop for coaches of players aged 9 – 17 years.
The session will focus on designing practices using ‘small sided games’ and the ‘player centred approach’ to increase player engagement and repetition of a core skill.
The coaching session will be held in the morning from 9.00 am – 11.00 am. Register here if you would like to attend.
Mat will provide a brief introduction/overview of the session to attendees and will be available for questions at the conclusion of the session.
