Over 250 of Northern NSW’s best young male footballers will flock to Coffs Harbour across the June long weekend for the annual Telstra State Championships for Boys.
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) seven Member Zones will contest the Telstra State Championships for Boys in both the 11 and 12 Years divisions. The Member Zones include; Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football, Northern Inland Football, Football Mid North Coast, North Coast Football and Football Far North Coast; as well as 10 Years and 11 Years Emerging Jets sides.
The Telstra State Championships are the first of NNSWF’s major tournaments to be conducted at Coffs Harbour International Stadium this year.
NNSWF will also host the Westfield National Youth Championships for Girls in July, Telstra State Championships for Girls in September and FFA National Youth Championships for Boys in October.
“Northern NSW Football is proud to host the Telstra State Championships for Boys which will showcase the finest young male footballers from around Northern NSW,” NNSWF Chief Executive Officer, David Eland said.
“This weekend will provide Northern New South Wales’ talented male footballers the opportunity to test themselves against fellow players in the region.”
“The Championships are a critical tool used to measure the talent from within our Member Zones and provide a valuable opportunity for our Technical Panel to identify talented players who possess the ability to progress to the next level in their playing career,” Eland concluded.
The first matches commence at 8.30am on Saturday, June 11, with both 11 and 12 Years Boys matches played simultaneously on two separate fields – Field 1 hosting the 11 Years Boys and Field 2 hosting the 12 Years Boys.
The presentation ceremony for the Championships will take place from 2pm on Monday 13th June.
