FFA CUP – NNSWF REGIONAL QUALIFIERS

FFA CUP ROUND 4 – REGIONAL QUALIFIERS

Kempsey Saints and Port United will lead a ‘Green Crusade’ north in the FFA Cup this weekend. The two clubs will be representing Football Mid North Coast in the Northern Conference Regional Qualifiers. Also represented are two clubs from each of Northern Inland Football, Football Far North Coast and North Coast Football.

The Round 4 fixtures will take place on Saturday at the C.ex International Stadium in Coffs Harbour. 8 teams will then become 4 who will be drawn against each other for fixtures on Sunday. The results from Sunday will determine the two (2) Regional Clubs to advance to the FFA Cup Round of 32 Qualifying Weekend (NNSWF’s Finals for FFA Cup) at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

Both FMNC clubs have been drawn against North Coast Football heavy weights Boambee Bombers and Urunga Raiders.

Kempsey will take on the Bombers who sit top of the NCF Premier League with 4 wins and a draw from their 5 League games. Their Cup run has seen them defeat Orara Valley (9-1) and Coffs United (3-1) to book their place in this weekends qualifiers. The Saints have been in decent form in the FMNC Premier League despite 2 losses from their 4 games. Their road to the Cup qualifiers has seen them defeat Wauchope (2-1) and Port Saints (3-2).

Old foes from years gone by will face off when Port United and Urunga Raiders go head to head. The Raiders sit in second place by goal difference behind Boambee also with 4 wins and a draw from their 5 League games. In the Cup, Urunga have defeated Westlawn Tigers (6-1) and Coffs Coast Tigers (4-1) to set up this weekend’s clash with United. The Port Macquarie outfit sit top of the FMNC Premier League table after 4 rounds with 3 wins and a draw. In the Cup, United have beaten Wallamba FC (6-0) and Wallis Lake in a thriller (5-3).

Other Round 4 matches will be Goonellabah FC (FFNC) against Demon Knights FC (NIF) and Bangalow SC (FFNC) against Tamworth FC (NIF).

The Round 5 draw will be made on Saturday evening for the games on Sunday.
