Round 2 Draw Northern & Southern Conference | Round 3 Northern Conference Draw | Round 3 Southern Conference Draw
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) will conduct the official draw for their FFA Cup Round 2 and 3 – 30 January 2020 LIVE at 12:30 pm, at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
Given the number of clubs entered in the competition, NNSWF will be starting their FFA Cup at Round 2 to align with the National Rounds further down the track.
The FFA Cup will consist of 69 NNSWF clubs including NNSWF’s Premier Competitions, National Premier Leagues NNSW (NPL NNSW) and NEWFM Northern League One, that will be broken into two pools consisting of a Northern and Southern Pool.
The Northern Conference will consist of NNSWF’s four regional Member Zones – Football Far North Coast, Football Mid North Coast, Northern Inland Football and North Coast Football.
The Southern Conference will consist of the remaining three NNSWF Member Zones – Hunter Valley Football, Macquarie Football and Newcastle Football and the two Premier competitions, NPL NNSW and NEWFM Northern League One.
NNSWF will conduct the Northern and Southern Conference Round 2 draw separately which will only consist of 48 Member Zone clubs.
The Round 3 draw will be conducted separately again between the two conferences, however, the Southern Conference will see the introduction of the NEWFM Northern League One teams who will go into the draw alongside the winners of previous Southern Conference match-ups from Round 2.
In regards to announcing the Round 3 draw this early on, it allows clubs to plan potential long-distance away trips; particularly in the northern conference.
NPL NNSW Clubs will come into the Southern Conference competition from Round 4.
The Northern Conference will play out their Regional Qualifiers up until Round 5 where they will then join the Southern Conference in Round 6 for the NNSWF FFA Cup State Qualifiers.
The FFA Cup provides NNSWF Premier Club and Member Zone Club team the opportunity to progress to the Round of 32 and the chance to play off against Preliminary Round, club-based winners from fellow states, as well as Hyundai A-League Clubs.
